Talented Mums in Small Business for Young Families
The Handmade Children's Markets (HCM) is a family friendly market specifically set up for mums with small businesses to sell their handmade products and services for children aged 0-10 years old.
The whole family can enjoy a personal experience where children can participate in free kid's activities while mums, dads, aunties, uncles and grandparents shop and browse the local WA handmade goods.
A fundraiser sausage sizzle will cater for your hungry tummies after all that shopping, or for the dads while the mums spend the money (we know how it is!!).
Why are there products at the markets that are not handmade??
Originally HCM was intended only for handmade products but during the planning stages I noted the need for a market selling a bigger variety of products for children, including products that are not handmade.
I felt that I was disadvantaging Work At Home Mums who have played a big role in designing their products but get them made elsewhere, or others that have worked just as hard sourcing the best products but do not make them themselves.
Local Mums
There is such a diverse range of handmade children’s products in Perth that we as West Australians should be proud of! HCM endeavors to support our local mums by providing a regular place to sell children's products and services while also getting these businesses thriving and their names known around Perth.
I have been completely inspired by all the talent and creativity out there by mums who find time to look after their little ones and run a small business at the same time.
HCM encourages stall holders at the markets to support and promote each other through networking on Facebook and through each other's websites. Links to each stall holders website and Facebook (where available) are on our HCM Stalls page.

Community
HCM has a strong community focus as it strives to support local schools, small businesses and community groups through donations, advertising and by providing fundraising opportunities.
We are working with local community groups, including the Bullcreek Church of Christ Playgroup, to advertise and fundraise at the markets for projects that support and strengthen children within the community.
At each market there will be a $2.50 sausage sizzle where all monies raised will go to the school/community group. See Fundraising for more details.
