Little Champs will also be holding a cake stall to raise funds for their centre. Your support os greatly appreciated!

Project Underpants

In October, the Handmade Children's Markets, friends and many stallholders supported children going into the foster care system by donating undies and other essential items that these children desperately need before they are placed into homes.

These children are often removed from their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. For more information or to donate online go to http://www.backpacks4aussiekids.com.au/Home.html.

Operation Christmas Child

In September and October, the Handmade Children's Markets stallholders and customers helped contribute to Operatin Christmas Child by donating shoeboxes of goodies for children in Papua New Guinea who would otherwise go without Christmas pressies this year. Thanks to everyone who participated!!

We will be participating in this next year so for more information go to http://operationchristmaschild.org.au/

At a Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe box distribution in Papua New Guinea, the children were asked if they had ever received a new gift and, if not, what they would hope for.

Tawhiri, a 9-year-old boy who lives near the Kokoda Trail, waved his hands and shouted that he would love something to cover his head when it rained.

So imagine his excitement when Tawhiri opened his box and pulled out a perfect beanie! His joy was infectious as all the children saw that his wish had come true. They all opened their boxes to discover they were full of gifts – just for them.

Starlight Children's Foundation Supporter

 Starlight Foundation

All profits from the September and October Handmade Children's Markets sausage sizzle went to the Starlight Foundation supporting children with illness and injury. Thanks to everyone who bought a sausage in a bun and helped raise almost $300.00 towards sick children who need a little bit of fun back into theirs lives!

Living with illness or injury can cause enormous strain in the lives of children and their families. The pain, loneliness and isolation that sick children feel dominates their lives to the extent that they often miss out on the fun, laughter and normal experiences that healthy children take for granted.

Since 1988 Starlight has been providing its services Australia-wide to help seriously ill children and their families get through the difficult times caused by illness. Starlight’s programs are delivered in and out of hospital providing positive distraction to children in their time of need, restoring the fun, laughter and joy that serious illness takes away
